Potions for the Ocean

October 18, 2026 2:00 PM –4:00 PM

Create herbal remedies while supporting local marine wildlife at Potions for the Ocean, a hands-on fundraising workshop benefiting SeaLife Response, Rehabilitation and Research (SR3). The event will take place at the Des Moines Theater, and tickets must be purchased through SR3’s registration page.

Kristyn Cook, founder of Sacred Oak Apothecary, will guide participants through the world of herbs, including when and how herbal remedies are used. Guests will then brew and blend their own healing creations during this imaginative ocean-inspired workshop.

What You’ll Take Home

  • A soothing salve
  • A tranquil tincture
  • An infused oil of your choice
  • Extra ingredients and instructions

All workshop supplies are included, and all proceeds benefit SR3’s work supporting ocean wildlife.
