Operating for over a month, this is the perfect go-to spot for family and friends. Pick the perfect pumpkin for pumpkin carving. Take the kids across the street to see farm animals and participate in fun, seasonal activities. Or, challenge yourself and your friends to see who can finish the maze first (or get lost trying). Regardless of what you decide to do, this is a yearly event with tons of fun you won’t want to miss!
Burien Brat Trot & Bavarian Fest

1000 W 152nd Street, Burien, WA 98166
Time: 1pm to 4pm
Have you ever been to a Bavarian-themed 5K run and festival? If you haven’t, then don’t miss this one! This event has a 5K Run starting at 1pm and a 1-Mile Run starting at 2pm at the corner of 10th Street and 152nd Street in Burien. Once you have completed your run, stop by the Tin Room Bar where they will be selling sausages in front of their beer garden. Registering online is preferred but you may register at the event as well. Doggies, strollers and Bavarian costumes are welcomed. Although it is an event open to the public, the event is a fundraiser hosted by the Highline Schools Foundation to help benefit the students of the Highline district. Enjoy a fun workout and a delicious sausage for a good cause!
Waterland Fall Wine and Art Walk

Stroll along the scenic Des Moines Marina & Waterfront and take in breathtaking art from local artists and sips from regional national wineries. Plus, you'll have a chance to visit 8 shops along the Waterfront for wine and snacks so you'll stay warm even if the weather doesn't cooperate.

Join them on Halloween evening from 5-9pm at their flagship store for a safe & family-friendly drive-through trick or treat experience, complete with a few familiar faces ☠️ and truffles to share.
Fall Foliage Festival and Plant Sale

This event is perfect for plant owners and nature lovers alike. The botanical garden will host workshops on how to care for rhododendron plants and have a “fall color” tour. The botanical experts emphasize that the fall season is the perfect time to plant, therefore the plant sales will have their inventory marked half-off. There will be food trucks, family activities and even a petting zoo on Saturday! Although this event is free and open to the public, you will receive a garden pass for future visits with any purchases over $50 at their plant nursery or visitor center.
Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead)

November 1-15
This annual celebration has moved to a virtual setting for 2020. Be sure to follow the City of Burien's Facebook event page for all the details.
Not to be confused with Halloween, Día de Los Muertos or Day of the Dead is a traditional Mexican holiday that combines the Catholic religion and indigenous cultures. It is a holiday that honors and respects our deceased ancestors by setting up an altar with their picture and decorating it with marigold, decorations and offering food (think of the Disney movie "Coco"). The Burien Community Center is happily hosting this amazing event with cultural dances, traditional art and different activities for the family. This is a cultural event you don't want to miss!

The Museum of Fright

The Museum of Flight celebrates Halloween family fun as “the Museum of Fright.” The museum’s spacious galleries provide Halloween carnival-style games and activities to spark imagination, innovation and get in the Halloween spirit. Visit Frankenstein’s Lab in the Aviation Learning Center, hop through an obstacle course under the Blackbird and encounter other frightful surprises. Be sure to wear a costume! www.museumofflight.org
Boo in Burien

October 24, Noon-4:00 p.m.
The annual safe trick-or-treat in downtown Burien features many neighborhood activities and trick-or-treating. Activities include: creepy crawlers pub crawl and costume content (Age 21+), Weinerdog races, canine costume contest, haunted houses and of course, trick-or-treating.

No need to travel to Munich, the Cedarbrook Lodge is bringing Oktoberfest to you this year! Kick back by the fire and enjoy authentic German fare and beer specials.
