Adrenaline-pumping Experiences in Seattle Southside

Virtual Sports

Ever wondered what it’s like to dive with whales? How about dodge asteroids in space, or guard an ancient castle from foreign invaders? With 12 separate VR booths and a private VIP room available to rent, at Virtual Sports, you can have a revolutionary, interactive experience at one of the largest commercial virtual reality facilities in North America.

Virtual Sports also features a 10,000 square foot laser tag field, nine holes of mini golf, and a multi-purpose field for Nerf rival assaults, Friday night drone racing, and some truly epic dodgeball games.

Sykart Indoor Racing Center

Start your engines, cause you’re about to live out your dreams of an Indy 500 championship right in Seattle’s backyard. Or at least, you can be champion of the Sykart go-kart races. This is the Pacific Northwest’s premier indoor racing center, with walk-in races happening every day.

Take some laps on this 1/4 mile track with their high-performance karts that can go up to 40 mph! There are 10-minute adult races for those 18 and up, and a youth racing track open Friday through Sunday. This is one high-speed racing experience that everyone can enjoy; it’s welcoming of first-time racers yet also technically challenging for those with a bit more experience on the track.

The Museum of Flight

You mean you live in “Jet City,” and you’ve never been to The Museum of Flight? See why Seattle deserves this nickname at the largest independent, non-profit air and space museum in the world.

General admission will get you access to permanent and featured exhibits, transporting you through aviation and spaceflight history. The Aviation Pavilion, a covered, outdoor gallery features jet fighters, big bombers, some of the first commercial airliners, and even the first jet Air Force One. You can also opt to amplify your museum visit with one of their special experiences, like flight simulators, Boeing Field tours, or 3-D movies. Check out the Museum of Flight website to plan your visit.

If the flight simulator isn’t enough action for you, check out Old Thyme Aviation, where you can go for a ride in a historic biplane from the 1920s, 30s, and 40s. Take flight around Elliott Bay and the Space Needle in an open cockpit or cool down on a hot summer day with a 30-minute flight across the Puget Sound. Old Thyme Aviation has a location right on Boeing Field at the Museum of Flight. Learn more on their website.
