New Destination Development Manager
Seattle Southside Regional Tourism Authority (RTA), the official destination marketing organization for the cities of Tukwila, SeaTac and Des Moines, announces the appointment of Lisa Schwartz to the position of Destination Development Manager. Schwartz, a sales and marketing veteran, will help drive the destination marketing organization’s (DMO) long-term growth strategy as well as foster relationships with key stakeholders, further cultivate regional partnerships and develop a new pipeline of partners.
Seattle, Wash. (September 26, 2016) - “As Seattle Southside continues to see incredible growth of its travel and tourism offerings, we’re excited to have an experienced and energetic leader like Lisa Schwartz join our team,” said Katherine Kertzman, president and CEO of Seattle Southside RTA. “Lisa’s strong relationships, industry savvy and years of working throughout the Northwest to promote tourism will be key to our next phase of growth.”
Significant aspects of Schwartz’s role will be facilitating the development of new and existing tourism experiences that will help strengthen the region and support Seattle Southside’s economy. She will also serve as a liaison with DMO partners who are seeking to expand their tourism capabilities and serve as an ambassador on behalf of Seattle Southside, addressing local organizations, community groups and schools.
Schwartz’s career spans international and domestic sales executive positions at Miles Partnership, a leader in destination marketing. In addition, Schwartz also served as CEO of Media West Advertising Sales, LLC, based in Bellevue, WA where she worked directly with national and regional media companies such as, Meredith, SpotX, Hearst, Readers Digest, AAA and others in digital and print media sales. Schwartz was co-owner of Small World Publications, which launched the first international visitors guide for the USA in a marketing partnership with the US Travel Association, entitled Discover America – USA Travel Guide. Schwartz was also a member of the publishing group Destination Media Alliance that published the statewide visitors Guide on behalf of Washington State Tourism
