Celebrate two major milestones with the Northwest Symphony Orchestra during Sounds of the American West, a special family concert honoring both America’s 250th anniversary and the Northwest Symphony Orchestra’s 40th anniversary.
The evening explores the music, landscapes, and spirit of the American West with works by established and emerging composers. The program includes Aaron Copland’s Four Dance Episodes from Rodeo, Scott Henderson’s Cascadiana, and Sketches from the Northwest by featured student composer Nina Iorik.
Audiences will also hear the world premiere of Brent Irwin’s Cowboy Suite, along with performances featuring students from the Highline School District, Key to Change Studio, and West Seattle High School.
