The Cloud at Angle Lake Station

The Cloud shimmers overhead as passengers board the train at the Angle Lake Link Light Rail Station in SeaTac. This kinetic landmark is made of more than 6,000 gently spinning acrylic discs, forming a floating, three-dimensional cumulus shape that catches sunlight and ripples in the breeze. This dynamic piece adds to the natural beauty of this stop, which offers views of Puget Sound on one side and Mt. Rainier on the other. Its subtle movement and shifting colors create a fun, uplifting surprise for commuters and travelers, inviting them to pause, look up, and share a moment of delight.

About the Artist:

Laura Haddad is a Seattle-based artist whose work explores the intersection of art, landscape, and environmental experience. With a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley and a background that includes history, jewelry design, and stage set design, Haddad brings a multidisciplinary approach to public art. Her installations often transform everyday spaces into dynamic, communal experiences. A longtime contributor to Seattle’s design and public art community, Haddad’s work is recognized for its thoughtful integration of place, movement, and shared human connection.
