Founded in 1987 is a first class orchestra that has received local, regional and national acclaim. “Shard” a CD of music by Michael Nicolella with the NWSO was voted CD of the month in the June/July 2006 issue of “Guitare Classique” in France. The NWSO is committed to local composers and as of April 2012 had performed a total 125 works by Northwest composers in its history.
