Riding the Rails

There you can purchase tickets to ride the classic monorail, built for the World’s Fair, into Seattle Center where you can visit the Space Needle.

Tickets are cash only and range from $1.00-$2.25 one-way.

Sea-Tac Airport tower and Light Rail trainSound Transit Link Light Rail: Ideal for the car-free traveler, and one of the most popular forms of transit for visitors in the Seattle Southside, the light rail can take you to downtown Seattle in just 30 minutes. Many hotels offer free shuttle service to and from stations.

Fares range from $2.25 to $3.25 and tickets can be purchased at our Seattle Southside Visitor Center.

Orca CardORCA Cards: These handy cards provide entrance to area buses, trains, and ferries. ORCA is accepted on most transit options in the Seattle area including Community Transit, Everett Transit, King County Transit, Kitsap Transit, Peirce Transit, Sound Transit, and WAashington State Ferries. Start a card with $5 and when you board the bus, ferry, or train just tap your card at the reader. Cards can be purchased by mail or online and can be refilled at station kiosks.
