The City-County Communications and Marketing Association (3CMA) announced today that Seattle Southside Visitor Services is a finalist in two of its Savvy Awards categories. SSVS’ website has been acknowledged in the Technology Services – Websites category and its Vacation Planner has been recognized in the Publications – Other category. Selected out of over 700 entries, SSVS will be presented with one of three awards acknowledging its achievements.

The Savvy Awards, sponsored by 3CMA, recognize outstanding local government achievements in communications, public sector marketing and citizen-government relationships. The Savvies salute skilled and effective city, county and agency professionals who have creatively planned and carried out successful innovations.

“This is a great honor for SeaTac and Tukwila,” said Katherine Kertzman, Program Director at SSVS. “Our success is really attributed to the dedication and commitment of our business community. This partnership builds and strengthens Seattle Southside’s position as an ideal visitor destination.”

Savvy Awards are given in 11 overall categories. In addition to the coveted Savvy Award, judges designate a Silver Circle Award and Award of Excellence. Entries are judged on overall creativity, quality of content, design and production, and budget. Measurable outcomes are heavily weighed in the judging.

The Savvy Awards will be held September 4th at the 3CMA 2003 Annual Conference in Anaheim, California.
