Sign UpThe Summit at Snoqualmie has everything you could look for in a ski resort: variety, affordability, and close proximity to Seattle (the drive is usually under an hour).
Next time you visit the Seattle area, take a day trip and visit the Summit at Snoqualmie!
There are a few different ski/snowboarding areas of Snoqualmie: Summit West, Summit East, Summit Central, Alpental, and Nordic. Nordic is the central location for cross-country skiing, and Alpental is home to some of the more challenging runs at Snoqualmie. Summit West and Summit East are both great, and they tend to be less crowded than the runs at Summit Central. But from a snowboarder’s perspective, Summit Central is the place to be, with thrilling parks, varying terrain, great views from the top, and some delicious dining options. Summit Central is also open seven days a week, and that’s not always the case for the other parts of the mountain. There is also a tubing area at Summit Central that’s fun for the whole family!
Central Express and Triple 60 are two beloved runs on Summit Central. Central Express takes you all the way to the top, at an elevation of about 3,865 feet. From there, you have a lot of different route options, including the famous Central Park with boxes, rails, and tubes so that you can try out your X-Games moves! Depending on the route you take, Central Express and Triple 60 connect, so you can meet up with your friends if they decide to take the other route. From the top of Triple 60, we wouldn’t recommend following the chairlift straight down the face of the mountain (unless you want your legs to implode the next day)! Take the scenic/longer route, the top traverse, which eventually crosses paths with Central Express.
Beginners should check out Holiday, which offers an easier, quicker run. Holiday also has a mini terrain park called Greenhorn Acres.
When you want to take a break for a bite to eat, you have a lot of great venues to choose from. At the Central Lodge, each floor has its own dining option: the Timberhouse Café has all of your American classics like burgers and pizza, and Whiskey Pete’s is a laid-back 21+ venue, great for microbrews.
Whether you're new to winter sports, a seasoned skier or snowboarder looking for a challenge, or just looking for a family-friendly day of inner tubing, Summit at Snoqualmie is absolutely worth a visit. Check it out this season and try all sides of the mountain yourself!
