Seattle Cruise Port FAQs
Q: How early should I arrive at the cruise terminal?
A: Most cruise lines recommend arriving 2–3 hours before your scheduled departure time. Boarding windows are typically assigned in advance, and arriving during your designated check-in time helps reduce wait times.
If you're traveling during peak cruise season (May–September) or need to park, allow extra time for traffic and security screening. Always check your cruise line’s official boarding instructions before departure.
Pro Tip: Aim to arrive no later than 90 minutes before the final boarding call.
Q: Can I take public transit to the cruise port?
A: Yes, you can take public transit to Seattle’s cruise terminals, though it may require a short walk or rideshare connection.
From Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), take the Link Light Rail north to downtown Seattle (Westlake or University Street stations). From there, you can use a taxi, rideshare, or local bus to reach:
- Pier 66 (Bell Street Terminal)
- Pier 91 (Smith Cove Terminal)
Public transit is budget-friendly but may be less convenient if traveling with large luggage. Many cruise passengers prefer shuttle services or rideshare for direct drop-off at the terminal.
Q: Is shuttle service included with my cruise?
A: Shuttle service is not automatically included with most cruise fares.
However, some cruise lines offer:
- Paid airport-to-port transfers
- Hotel packages that include transportation
- Group travel transportation options
Independent shuttle companies also operate between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, nearby hotels, and cruise terminals. Reservations are typically required.
Check your cruise confirmation or contact your cruise line directly to confirm available transfer options.
Q: What are the parking costs at the cruise terminal?
A: Cruise terminal parking rates vary by location and season, but most Seattle cruise parking ranges from $25–$35 per day.
Parking options include:
- On-site terminal garages
- Nearby secured off-site parking lots
- Prepaid online parking reservations
Many facilities allow advance booking to guarantee availability during peak cruise season. Travelers staying in Seattle Southside may also consider hotel park-and-cruise packages.
Always verify current rates and availability before your sailing date.
