The Museum of Flight

The Museum of Flight is a leader in accessibility. In addition to being fully ADA-compliant with wheelchair-accessible galleries, restrooms, and parking, the museum offers many programs and services to help visitors enjoy their experiences.

Physical Accessibility

  • Complimentary admission for any caregiver accompanying a visitor with a disability.
  • Courtesy wheelchairs available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Tactile Tours (90 minutes) with specially trained docents allow you to touch aircraft while learning about their design and history, available by request with at least 48 hours' notice.Learn more and book a tour.
  • Multilingual audio guides are available in English, Spanish, Mandarin, Japanese, Russian, French, and German.

Sensory-Friendly Programs

  • Sensory Days, a free program for adults and families of children, teenagers, and young adults with disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, autism, sensory processing disorders, and other cognitive disabilities. iFLY Indoor Skydiving

You might not think of skydiving as an accessible activity, but iFLY Indoor Skydiving in Tukwila is one of the most inclusive attractions in the area. iFLY's All Abilities program provides people who may have physical or cognitive challenges with the opportunity to indoor skydive. This includes:

  • Proper accommodations based on specific challenges.
  • Additional assistance and attention during orientation, putting on a flight suit and helmet, etc.
  • A highly-trained instructor to guide flyers through the experience.

Who can participate?

Traits of children or adults with physical challenges who can indoor skydive are:

  • Partial sight or blindness
  • Partial paralysis, such as paraplegia or quadriplegia
  • Physical deformities and amputees
  • Those with limited mobility due to other reasons

Traits of children or adults with cognitive challenges who can indoor skydive are:

  • Neurodevelopmental disorders, including ADHD, autism and learning disabilities.
  • Neurologic disorders, including cerebral palsy.
  • Muscular dystrophies.
  • Mental health disorders, including anxiety, depression, OCD and PSD.

At Westfield Southcenter in Tukwila, the largest shopping center in Washington state, you find people of all ages and abilities shopping, dining, and enjoying themselves.

General Accessibility

  • There is ample parking, and all entrances are wheelchair accessible.
  • Complimentary wheelchairs are available for visitors with limited mobility on a first-come, first-served basis. To use one, call the Westfield Security Office and present a photo ID.
  • Elevators inside allow easy access to more than 140 stores, including Nordstrom, Macy's, Apple, Daiso, and many more.
  • There are also many full-service restaurants, including Duke's Seafood, Mr. Dim Sum, and Moctezuma's Mexican Restaurant.
  • Wide doorways and hallways make it easy to get around, and there are many places to sit and rest throughout the mall.

AMC Southcenter 16, the movie theater inside Westfield Southcenter, offers a variety of accessibility features to help more guests enjoy the moviegoing experience.

  • Every auditorium includes wheelchair seating.
  • Assistive listening devices and closed captions are available for many movies. (Look for showtimes with these labels.)
  • Complimentary tickets for companions are available for eligible AMC Stubs members who require a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) through AMC's PCA Ticket Program.
