At Tutugether in Tukwila, you can design and make a throw rug in the image of your favorite animated character (or any simple design you choose!) Choose your own design and the staff will project it onto a canvas for you to trace. Then, you'll get a tutorial in tufting—a type of textile art where yarn is punched through fabric to create plush, textured designs to make custom rugs and wall hangings. You can choose how large you want it to be: a small rug typically takes two to three hours to make, while a large one could take five or more hours.
