Explore Seattle Southside Launches Microadventure Mystery Boxes
Collectible Seattle Southsiders Unlock Savings and Curiously Wonderful Adventures, from UFOs and Bubble Tea to Global Dining, Family Fun and Birding
<iframe width="560" height="31...Explore Seattle Southside launched its new Microadventure Mystery Box campaign today, inviting visitors to discover the destination through five collectible characters inspired by some of Seattle Southside’s most unexpected experiences. Visitors can head to MicroadventureMysteryBox.com to order a free mystery box, unlock exclusive savings and travel inspiration, and enter to win The Ultimate Microadventure Getaway, a $1,430 prize package featuring a hotel stay, dining and experiences at some of Seattle Southside’s top attractions.
Visitors won’t know which Seattle Southsider they received until they open it, and each character unlocks even more ways to explore. By scanning the QR code on the bottom of their surprise character, visitors can access the Our Favorite Things Pass, featuring exclusive savings at local restaurants and attractions, including buy-one-get-one-free offers at The Museum of Flight, Seattle Chocolate Factory Tour and Waterland Arcade.
Part souvenir, part trip inspiration, the limited-edition collectibles tap into the “gotta get them all” energy of today’s collectible culture while giving travelers a playful new way to explore SeaTac, Tukwila, Des Moines and beyond. Each Seattle Southsider connects to a different side of the destination—from global dining and UFO lore to bubble tea, family attractions, aviation, gardens, trails and birdwatching.
The five Seattle Southsiders include:
- B. Tea, an extraterrestrial obsessed with bubble tea who connects the Bubble Tea Trail with Seattle Southside’s famous Maury Island Incident and UFO lore.
- Chomper, a sixgill shark with an appetite for the international flavors found throughout Seattle Southside.
- Glider, an aviation-loving harbor seal inspired by flight, indoor skydiving and the region’s aviation history.
- Bubbles, a giant Pacific octopus ready to dive into Seattle Southside’s 20+ family-friendly attractions.
- Herb, a prehistoric giant sloth inspired by the one unearthed during construction of SEA Airport in 1961, with a love of botanical gardens, trails and birdwatching spots.
“Seattle Southside has always been a place where travelers can find something surprising just around the corner, and the Microadventure Mystery Boxes turn that spirit of discovery into something visitors can collect and make their own,” said Mark Everton, CEO of Explore Seattle Southside. “Whether your character sends you in search of bubble tea, UFO history, global flavors, family fun or a quiet trail for birding, the idea is to offer inspiration – and savings – to get out, explore and experience a side of the destination they may not have expected.”
The campaign is designed to encourage both first-time and repeat visitors to experience Seattle Southside in a new way, with itineraries and exclusive savings that can be customized around individual interests, timing and travel style.
