The Burke Museum creates a better understanding of the world and our place in it. The museum is responsible for Washington State collections of natural and cultural heritage and sharing the knowledge that makes them meaningful. The Burke welcomes a broad and diverse audience and provides a community gathering place that nurtures life-long learning and encourages respect, responsibility and reflection. In addition to long-term exhibits, the Burke Museum also presents special exhibits that rotate several times a year. From conservation photography, to recent discoveries in natural history, to the finest traditional and contemporary cultural arts, Burke exhibits invite all visitors to examine the critical issues of our time. Throughout the year, the Burke Museum has fun events for the whole family. These Family Day Events offer close encounters with Burke collections, all-ages activities, and a chance to talk with Burke experts. Family Day Events include: • Bug Blast • Archaeology Day • Meet the Mammals • Dinosaur Day • Mushroom Maynia The Burke Museum is an American Association of Museums Accredited Museum.
