We are celebrating the birthday of the rooftop dragon, Erasmus, guardian of Downtown Renton!
The Dragon Dash 5K/10K Fun Run & Walk is coming and Erasmus has plotted the course! Along the way, you may encounter a medieval knight, a sword in the stone, or even a fire-breathing dragon! This race is open to competitive runners, fun runners, walkers, and families. After the run, kids can participate in a dragon egg hunt and try their luck at the Sword in the Stone. There will also be accurate and professional chip timing provided by BuDu Racing, LLC.

When: Saturday, April 15, 2023
Time: Race begins at 10am. Checkin tables open at 9am. Meet on Wells Ave S, between S 2nd & S 3rd St.
Cutoff Time: Runners should be on the Cedar River Trail by 10:30am. All runners and spectators must be off the main roads by 10:30am.
Organized by City of Renton's Recreation Department, with coordination assistance provided by BuDu Racing

STARTING LINE: Wells Ave S, Renton WA, 98057 (Between S 2nd & S 3rd St outside of Common Ground Coffee & Cupcakes & Macadons)
FINISH LINE: 1719 Maple Valley Hwy, Renton, WA 98057
The race will begin on Wells Ave S (between S 2nd & S 3rd St, between Common Ground Coffee & Cupcakes & Macadons) where runners will run under Erasmus the Dragon as they begin their Dragon Dash. Runners will take their first left onto S 3rd St and run by Veterans Memorial Park. The next turn will be a right turn onto Renton Ave S, which provides an immediate entrance onto the Cedar River Trail. 5K runners will turn around at Riverview Park; 10K runners will turn around at Ron Regis Park. Once racers make their turn and head back north up the Cedar River Trail, they will enter the Renton Community Center/Henry Moses Aquatic Center complex via the Cedar River bridge under I-405. The race will end in front of Henry Moses Aquatic Center. Make sure to save a bit of energy to try and pull the sword from the stone at the finish line!Cutoff Time: Runners should be on the Cedar River Trail by 10:30am. AWARDS & RESULTS
Awards will be given to the top three runners overall in non binary, male, and female groups. Finisher Certificates can be printed for all runners in each age group category at www.BuDuRacing.com.

More mysterious than the Easter Bunny. More challenging than a backyard egg hunt. Presenting: The Dragon Scavenger Hunt in Renton.
Four precious dragon eggs will be hidden in secret locations across Renton, waiting for brave adventurers to discover them.
The scavenger hunt begins April 1 with clues sent via email to registered participants. Clues will be provided one at a time after each egg is discovered. The adventure will continue until all four eggs have been found. Prizes will be awarded April 15.
This first-time event honors the 4th anniversary of the landing of Erasmus, Renton’s rooftop dragon. Erasmus is a can’t-miss-it sculpture that has captured the hearts of the community.
