Waterland Yoga
Waterland Yoga brings people together through movement, mindfulness, and community. Founded in 2023 by local instructors Tera Bucasas and Georgeanne Smith, this welcoming yoga series invites beginners and experienced practitioners alike to connect in some of Seattle Southside’s most inviting spaces.
During the summer, classes take place at scenic Sound View Park, where sweeping views of Puget Sound and fresh salty air create a peaceful outdoor backdrop. In winter, Waterland Yoga moves indoors to the Des Moines Theater, a cozy, modern space where it’s easy to warm up with a coffee from a nearby café before or after class. With flexible “pay what you can” pricing and an inclusive atmosphere, Waterland Yoga makes the practice approachable and welcoming.
Why Locals Love It
Two Seasonal Experiences: The Winter Series runs from January through March, while the Summer Series runs from June through September. No registration is required for the summer or winter series—simply show up, sign a waiver, and roll out your mat. Free parking makes attending even easier.
All Levels Welcome: Whether you’re trying yoga for the very first time or have years of practice behind you, classes are intentionally inclusive and beginner-friendly. Bringing your own mat is encouraged, but there is a limited number of mats and blocks to borrow.
Flexible “Pay What You Can” Rates: Waterland Yoga keeps wellness accessible with donation-based pricing. Venmo and cash are accepted on-site.
The Vibe
Expect laid-back, community-centered energy. It’s the kind of experience where neighbors become friends, and everyone is encouraged to come exactly as they are.
