Multiplicity by John Fleming appears to grow from the ground like a supersized plant. The towering structure, made of 26 flat steel blades rising 26 feet into the air, welcomes visitors near the entrance to the King County Library in Tukwila. Unveiled in 2017 when the library opened, it pays homage to the rich cultural diversity of the area. When creating the piece, Fleming held public workshops, inviting people of all ages and backgrounds to paint colorful designs on the tall steel blades.
