Molecule of the Region
Molecule of the Region3651 Southcenter Blvd
Tukwila, Washington
Suspended above the mezzanine of the Tukwila International Boulevard Light Rail Station, A Molecule of the Region by Ted Savinar captures the vibrancy and imagination of the community it represents. This colorful, kinetic sculpture weaves together comments from Tukwila residents, such as the wistful, “I wish there were more stars in the Tukwila sky", into an expressive constellation of words and forms. As one of three works Savinar created for the station, the piece brings a sense of wonder and playfulness to the commuter experience, inviting travelers to pause, look up, and connect with the shared hopes and humor of those who call Tukwila home.
