This Picnic Shelter is the perfect location for your next company or family gathering. This facility can hold up to 9 picnic tables and has electricity and lighting. This shelter offers your guests all the amenities that Des Moines Beach Park has to offer. Restrooms on site are Public Restrooms located in Beach Park lot park. Restrooms in Rental Facilities are not available to shelter rentals.
The renovated Dining Hall, built over the Des Moines creek brings history and modern day style together. With an expansive deck, full-size industrial kitchen and an additional side room called the “Kaffe Stuga,” the space has a variety of uses. The building is finished with rustic wooden beams, hardwood floors, classically styled windows, light walls and dark wood trim. With one main room and the Kaffe, this venue is perfect for mid sized groups. The Dining Hall comes with 15, sixty-inch round tables, 12, six-foot banquet tables and 150 chairs. Additional tables and chairs may be brought in to seat the fire code of 175.

The Founder’s Lodge is a small quiet space spanning the Des Moines Creek. This venue boasts gorgeous views of the Beach Park Meadow, Puget Sound and Cascade Mountains. With floor to ceiling windows, French doors to a wraparound deck and two small break out rooms, the Founder’s lodge can easily accommodate smaller more intimate events. The Founders Lodge limits at 80 people per Fire Code. The venue comes with 10, forty-eight inch rounds, 8, six foot banquet tables and 80 black chairs. No additional guests are allowed.

The Auditorium houses stained glass windows, a large outdoor patio and vaulted cathedral ceilings. Enter the building to exposed wooden beams, glass accordion doors and a large stage with ample wall space for projection. Open floor space in the Auditorium allows for flexible seating and table arrangements with room to spare. The sea foam blue walls embrace the Puget Sound location, creating a welcoming environment perfect for large events. The Auditorium comes with 25, sixty-inch round tables, 12, six-foot banquet tables and 250 black chairs. This will enable you to seat a capacity of 250 people. You may bring additional tables and chairs as fire code allows up to 360 people seated, and a total of 525 standing.
The Steven J Underwood Memorial Park is a 20.5 acre softball development with three softball fields. Perfect for small tournaments or to use as overflow fields for large tournaments. This complex is within 15 minutes of all other major complexes in the Southside and makes a great addition to the mix of fields available for tournaments.
The Gazebo at Wooton Park is located inside the park near the center. The gazebo contains no tables, making it ideal for a small wedding ceremony. One, two-plug outlet is mounted on a post. Two permanent barbecue pits are located outside the gazebo. Rental groups must provide their own charcoal and dispose of own trash.
Located at the southeast corner of the Field House, the Picnic Shelter features 3 picnic tables, 2 barbecue pits and access to the play equipment, tennis courts and skate park. The parks, and accompanying amenities, are open to the general public daily from 8:00am-dusk.
The Des Moines Field House, the only full-log cabin in Washington State, was built in 1939 as part of a Depression-era recovery program, and was designated as a King County Historic Landmark in 1984. The Field House offers three areas available for rent: the picnic shelter, a large meeting room (Studio), and Gymnasium. The Field House Gym is 48 feet by 97 feet and located on the upper level of the Field House. This facility is ideal for large size groups and receptions. It’s log cabin appeal is enhanced with a full-length rock fireplace (not usable; for decoration only), the stage in the gymnasium is 19 feet by 16 feet with maple hardwood floors throughout the facility.
Set on the shores of Puget Sound, the Beach Park Event Center offers picturesque views for a one of a kind backdrop for events. From the Auditorium to the Founders Lodge and the Meadow, groups up to 500 people can have a creative and memorable event. Event attendees can enjoy activities such as walking nearby trails, visiting the creek and combing the beach with family and friends.
The Activity Center is a beautiful venue located inland in Des Moines and features a hard-wood floored main room with a large brick fire place centerpiece and single stained glass window. With two additional side rooms and Commercial Kitchen available this facility is excellent for mid-sized groups. The patio is highlighted by gardens and a spectacular view of Mt. Rainier over Steven J. Underwood Park. The facility comes with 15, sixty inch round tables, 5 six-foot banquet tables and 120 chairs. This will enable a set to accommodate 120 attendees. Additional chairs and tables are welcome for extra guests up to the seated limit of 125.
