My winter adventure begins at the affordable Extended Stay America Tukwila, after my arrival at the Seatac airport the evening before. A short morning walk to the Westfield Southcenter has me shopping for a coat, hat and scarf to keep me warm during my Seattle Southside stay. I hop aboard the Link Light Rail for a trip to explore downtown Seattle. I check out the views from the Space Needle. Ride the Monorail. Discover the wonders of Chinatown. Walk along the waterfront at Pike Street Market exploring all the shops. Ride the Duck by land and water Holiday Lights tour. Day one of my adventure ends at Bull Pen Pub Bar & Grill with some karaoke fun. A day trip by Express Bus to Chrystal Mountain has me spending all day skiing. Dinner at the Rainforest Cafe ends day two. Picking up a rental car I drive to Redondo Beach - Des Moines. Bundling up I take a walk along the boardwalk watching seagulls fly overhead as I take in the breathtaking views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. Local residents suggest a fresh seafood meal at Salty's of salmon. With my sweet tooth craving chocolate I drive to Tacoma to the home of the Brown & Haley Factory Outlet for some Almond Roca and a 24ct box of Peanut Butter Mountain Bars for myself and a few friends back home. Before heading to the airport for my flight home I stop to try my luck at the Great American Casino, ending my vacation with fond memories of a great winter adventure in Seattle Southside, Washington State.— Joseph

My journey starts at the Seattle Waterfront Marriott hotel. We get unpacked and decide to go on a gondola ride and then have dinner at the Summit Restaurant at Crystal Mountain. The next day we go to iFly Indoor Skydiving and have an unforgettable day and it is all on DVD to share with family and friends. We love shopping so we visit the Westfield center and end our trip with a full day of shopping.— Laura

I love shopping and Seattle is a great place for that! I go to South Center Mall and all the outlets and Ikea....then head up to downtown...so much fun and I stay warm and dry and get to have bonding time with my daughter who lives in Bellevue.— Mary

My adventure starts at SouthCenter shopping center. I'm a fairly newcomer to the gorgeous Northwest. I thought I would miss my 24 hr. town of Las Vegas, but when I saw this shopping center, I was impressed at all it has to offer. Especially the great food court in the mall. So many ethnic choices. Had my first taste of Ivar's Clam Chowder here! No clam chowder I've ever had beats it, and being a foodie, I know clam chowders. Also, Salty's at Redondo Beach was just heaven, not only the food and service, but the view was incredible! I went alone so I don't have a photo of me enjoying myself. I hope this doesn't put my out of the contest.— Linda
