Just thirty miles south of Seattle Southside, in Tacoma, is Cheney Stadium - home to the Tacoma Rainiers. The Rainiers are the Triple A Affiliate for the Seattle Mariners. This is great place to watch for rising stars and enjoy and affordable night out with your family.
The tickets my family purchased ahead of time were for the Summit Club. This Club offered at the Stadium is for the V.I.P. Box and seats located right on the first base line. The view was amazing!
The tickets included all the beer and wine you could drink, non-alcoholic beverages and your fill of peanuts, pretzels and popcorn. Boy, did we test out the limit on the popcorn!
There are several food options available for purchase at the stadium. Our favorite, the garlic fries, were served up hot and fresh.
Our seats had a great view of the game and it was the perfect spot to catch fly balls as they were fouled out.
The fans cheered on their team and spent time getting autographs and pictures with the team Mascot, Rhubarb, during the game.
The Rainier Girls led the crowd in the Y.M.C.A. and the Seventh Inning Stretch.
This game was action packed and fun for everyone. You feel like you are a part of the game. because we cheered so loudly, the players played a wonderful game and beat the opposing team!
Much to our surprise there was the most beautiful display of fireworks just following the game. The stadium lights shut off and the show began lighting up the night sky with beautiful bursts of color. Fireworks are a Friday night tradition at the stadium.
We also learned that Cheney Stadium offers a Summer Movie Series free to families. Come sit on the field to watch this year’s hottest animated titles.
