This event features presentations from local experts including Ciscoe Morris, Robin Haglund and Marianne Binetti, along with a variety of educational exhibitors, arts & craft vendors and native plant sales.

The Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden (RSBG) will play host to hundreds of people gathering for the 5th Annual Blue Poppy Day – Art in Bloom on Saturday, May 14th. Celebrate and discover the amazing world of blue poppies (Meconopsis)! Enjoy the sight of a meadow containing hundreds of glowing, blooming blue poppies at this celebration of art, both nature made and man-made, for the entire community.
As visitors make their way through the Garden, they’ll be treated to the sights and sounds of musical and artistic performances. Visual artists will have their works on display. Northwest artist Pat Yager is the 2016 featured artist. Pat seeks to give the viewer a genuine sense of tranquility in her floral watercolor paintings. Her work is in collections in Britain, Costa Rica, the Middle East, Nicaragua, Canada, and the United States. Plus, two food trucks will be onsite for your dining experience.
The Des Moines Yacht Club rings in the boating season with their annual celebration. With boat tours, a seafood chowder feast, and live music, you won’t want to miss this all day party. There will be plenty of boating exhibits, a bagpipe procession, food trucks, and plenty of children’s activities for this family event.
