Owned and driven by Don Dinsmore, a resident of Kent, the vehicle is used to transport visitors to and from various locations throughout downtown Kent. Don does not charge for the service however he accepts tips which he then donates to wounded Navy and Marine Corps veterans.
Businesses in Kent are able to profit from the Pedicab in a variety of ways. They have the opportunity to sell their goods and services to the visitors who use the Pedicab to get to their establishment as well as benefit from advertising on the side of the trailer attached to the Pedicab (for a donation). Don will also distribute samples of products to potential customers to encourage them to patronize local businesses. Don reports that Maggies on Meeker and The Yarn Store both reported a 25% increase in business on the day the trailer was parked outside their locations.
