X-Prize Spacecraft Highlights Father’s Day at The Museum of Flight
SEATTLE, June 18, 2004
WHAT: The Museum of Flight is the place to take Dad for a full day of special family activities. Special Father’s Day Family Fun Workshops will be offered throughout the day. Event is free with Museum admission.

10 a.m.–5 p.m.: X-Prize Spacecraft Display: See the first-ever Seattle display of the Rubicon, the X-Prize contending spacecraft scheduled to be launched in mid-July by Wash. company Space Transport Corp. The builders will be on hand to share their enthusiasm for space travel and answer questions. The vehicle will be on display through 3 p.m., on Tuesday, June 22. 10 a.m.–5 p.m.: Family Lego® Experience: Immerse yourself in the world of Lego® with a special display and hands-on activities.
11 a.m.–1 p.m. and 3–5 p.m.: Starlab Portable Planetarium: Learn about the constellations and more.
11 a.m.–3 p.m.: Father’s Day Specials! Family Fun Workshops: Create an edible candy airplane and build some old-fashioned paper airplanes to take home.
12 noon, 1 and 2 p.m.: 20 Seconds: Amazing Skies Theater Performance: Learn about World War I balloon observation in an eight-minute play in the newly-opened, 88,000 sq.-ft. J. Elroy McCaw Personal Courage Wing.
1–2 p.m. and 2:30–3:30 p.m.: Simulated Space Mini-Missions: Play the role of astronauts and mission controllers in the hands-on Challenger Learning Center. Missions are designed for 4thgraders–adult.
More: Father’s Day at The Museum of Flight is presented by Bartell Drugs. Families must stop by a neighborhood Bartell Drugs to pick up special event coupon for Dad’s free admission on June 20.
The Museum of Flight is located at 9404 E. Marginal Way S., Seattle, Exit 158 off Interstate 5. The Museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $12 for adults, $11 for seniors 65 and older, $7.50 for youth 5 to 17, and free for children under 5. Group rates are available.
