Seattle, May 27, 2008: Get ready for a competition like no other. Men and women will compete for all the apples – to prove they are the strongest in Washington on Saturday, June 7 at 10 a.m. The competition will take place at the Des Moines Marina parking lot at 22307 Dock Ave. Des Moines, WA 98198.
According to event organizer and local strongman Grant Higa, there are over 40 competitors so far and several strongman favorites will be making appearances.
This North American Strongman, Inc. sanctioned competition will feature events like the Farmer’s Walk, Apollon Axle Deadlift, Tireflip and Keg Loading. Men and women will compete in weight classes including women’s 142 pounds and under or 141 pounds and over; and the men’s 175, 200, 231, 265 and 300 pound weight classes.
Head to the Des Moines Marina to start cheering on the competitors at 10 a.m. sharp. North American Strongman members can still sign up to compete in the competition for a $100 entry fee. Competitors must be present for the rules meeting at 9 a.m. The top two winners in each weight class will qualify for NAS nationals.
