“The Pacific Northwest starts here,” says Katherine Kertzman, Program Director at Seattle Southside Visitor Information Services. “We’re 15 minutes south of downtown Seattle and 18 minutes north of Tacoma’s city center. We have a vast selection of hotels, restaurants, shopping and attractions, all just minutes from the airport. This is the perfect place to begin your Northwest adventure!”

To assist visitors in planning their adventure, Seattle Southside Visitor Information Services is launching a new tourism program consisting of a brand new, state-of-the-art website and a 45-page Vacation Planner. The website, www.SeattleSouthside.com, offers on-line hotel reservations and discount coupons for shopping and dining. The Vacation Planner offers sample itineraries of things to see and do, a hotel accommodations grid, shopping suggestions, and a dining guide plus area maps.

Capitalizing on the success of the City of Tukwila’s three-year-old tourism and marketing program, SeaTac and Tukwila joined forces in February 2002 and formed Seattle Southside Visitor Information Services. Funded by the 1% lodging tax collected in both cities, Seattle Southside Visitor Information assists both residents and visitors with their travel plans.

Seattle Southside will debut its new program at its next Tourism Networking Conference to be held on March 13 at Noon at the DoubleTree Guest Suites in Tukwila. Invited to attend are all tourism-related businesses within the city limits of SeaTac and Tukwila; all regional tourist attractions, entertainment venues, and transportation services; and, regional and statewide tourism marketing venues and associations. Complimentary lunch will be provided. Space is limited. Please RSVP. For more information, please call (206) 575-2489.
