Kerry Wade, Visitor Information Specialist for Seattle Southside Visitor Services, was awarded the Mayor of Tukwila’s Community Service Award at a recognition banquet at The Museum of Flight on Friday, January, 26.
Wade was honored for her dedication and work with domestic violence causes in South King County. In 2005-06, Wade served as the chair of the South King County Community Network Association, the largest state community network whose focus it is to help children exposed to domestic violence. In October 2006, as co-chair of the first annual Steppin’ Out to Stop Domestic Violence Walk-A-Thon, Wade helped to execute a successful event to bring awareness to and raise funds for the Domestic Violence Task Force Collaborative of South King County.
Wade is currently employed at Seattle Southside Visitor Services where she is responsible for operating frontline visitor information systems. Seattle Southside Visitor Services serves as the Office of Tourism for the cities of Tukwila, SeaTac, Kent and Des Moines. Funded by a percentage of the lodging tax collected in those cities, Seattle Southside Visitor Services assists visitors with their travel plans to the region.
