Seattle Southside’s hugely popular Southside Express Shuttle is expanding service to include stops at one of the area’s top attractions, The Museum of Flight, starting May 1st.
With its inception in July 2004, the Southside Express Shuttle has transported over 25,950 riders back and forth from designated SeaTac hotels to Westfield Southcenter at no charge. With The Museum of Flight ranking number one as the most asked about attraction by riders on the shuttle, it was only a matter of time before service to include stops at The Museum of Flight would be arranged.
“The Museum of Flight is excited to be working with Seattle Southside and Southside Express Shuttle to provide SeaTac hotel guests with a free link to the museum,” said Bonnie J. Dunbar, PhD, President and CEO of The Museum of Flight. “This new shuttle service will allow visitors to experience the largest aviation and space museum on the West Coast, home to over 150 historically significant air and space craft, archives and library, and the stories of people who make history live.”
Currently, the Southside Express Shuttle transports riders at no charge from 22 SeaTac hotels to Westfield Southcenter and back with just a phone call reservation. Beginning May 1st, guests at those same 22 hotels can choose to ride at no charge to The Museum of Flight as well by making the same phone call reservation for pick-up. Guests can call 206-571-9588 for a pick-up.
The Southside Express Shuttle is funded by the efforts of Seattle Southside Visitor Services, a King County Economic Development Grant, Westfield Southcenter and The Museum of Flight. Seattle Southside is a partnership of four cities, Tukwila, SeaTac, Kent and Des Moines which is funded by the 1% lodging tax collected in each city. Seattle Southside assists both residents and visitors with their travel plans. For more information visit www.SeattleSouthside.com or call 206-575-2489.
