-Temporary changes will merge hourly and general parking during switchover-

(Seattle)—The Port of Seattle announced today that hourly parking at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport will move to the sky bridge level of the airport garage. The change, expected to be complete in May, will put the high-turnover hourly parking on the garage’s most convenient level.

“This will make the garage a very attractive alternative to the crowded terminal curbsides,” said Michael Civitelli, airport operations manager. “It’ll be much easier to park in the garage and meet your travelers inside rather than trying to pick them up at curbside.”

A number of interim adjustments will be necessary during the conversion process.

The most important of those is that the current hourly parking area will close to the public on Friday, Feb. 18 at 7:00 a.m. The ramp from the baggage claim drive to the hourly area will likewise be closed.

“Until the change is complete, all garage customers will use the general parking floors, four through eight,” Civitelli said. “Simply follow the highway signs to all parking from either the north or south airport entrances.”

Parking rates for the first two hours have always been the same for both hourly and general parking. There will be no increased cost for hourly users in the general parking area.

Along with the increased convenience for travelers, the switch will also make it possible for the airport to expand rental car operations on the lower floors of the garage. An expanded area for monthly parking customers will also become available. For more information on the airport’s monthly parking program link to
