KENT, WASH – September 27. 2005 – Halloween is right around the corner, which means that it is time for the fun and frightening 16th annual Halloween Party presented by Kent Parks, Recreation and Community Services and the Kent Arts Commission. On Saturday, October 29 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., the Kent Commons will be transformed into a "haunted house" of hands-on activities led by professional artists and host to Magician Toby Wessel! Kids can show off their colorful costumes while decorating pumpkins or fishing for treats in the "ghoulfish" pond. Children will also enjoy playing the “haunted” hoop shoot, hole-in-one golf, having their face painted and trying their luck at the "squeal of fortune" carnival game. The smallest costumed cuties will have fun playing on the indoor park play equipment.

Kids will be screaming with joy at the variety of hands-on arts and crafts that will be offered during the Halloween Party, from crafting glow-in-the-dark ghosts and cats, to creating frightening “spooky spiders” and “hair-raising Halloween hangings”. If that is not enough, kids can accessorize their costumes by making “haunted Halloween bracelets” or Halloween buttons.

Parents and kids will love the entertainment provided by Magician Toby Wessel. He will provide strolling magic at 3:30 p.m. and a magic show at 5:00 p.m.

The Kent Parks Halloween Party is a great event for families to dress up in costume and do art projects together! It's recommended for children preschool through 5th grade. Admission is $3 at the door; adults and kids under two are free!

Kent Arts Commission and Kent Parks, Recreation and Community Services along with other City departments, local business contributors and the Kent Parks Youth and Teen Program present this indoor party.
