KENT, WA – The Kent Arts Commission is proud to announce the recipients of the 2005 Community Arts Support Program Awards. Six organizations will be introduced on Tuesday, March 1st, 7 p.m. at the regular City Council meeting at Kent City Hall, 220 Fourth Avenue South. Coffee and cookies will be served in the lobby prior to the 7:00 p.m. meeting and award recipients will receive their award certificates in Council Chambers. The public is invited to join the arts commission and city council in congratulating the recipients of funds awarded through the annual Community Arts Support Program.

Kent Arts Commission’s Community Arts Support Program is designed to encourage, develop and support high quality community arts programming that serves the general public in the Kent area. Applicants are local professional and community-based groups and individuals involved in arts activities. This year, awards totaling $8,400 will be given to six organizations to fund a diverse range of music, theatre and art programs.

Icon Theater – Community Musical “Oliver”

Kent Civic & Performing Arts Board – Teen Summer Musical

Kent Specialized Recreation – Art as Fashion, Jabberwocky Jungle Theater

Kent Senior Activity Center – 8th annual Boomer Blast Off

Kent Youth & Family Services – Youth Mural

Rainier Chorale – 2005 Masterworks and Holiday Concert
