KENT, Wash. – February 1, 2006 – Up-and-coming chanteuse Jeni Fleming brings her captivating voice and accomplished jazz trio to Kent’s Spotlight Series on Friday, February 10. They perform at 8 p.m. at Kent-Meridian High School Performing Arts Center (10020 SE 256th St., Kent). The Jeni Fleming Acoustic Trio defies easy classification; they are capable of delivering classical and jazz, breezy folk tunes with a modern twist, and vibrant original pop – all with their signature jazz sound.

The Jeni Fleming Acoustic Trio is led by Jeni Fleming's powerful and honest voice. Her lush ballads drip with emotion and strength. One critic noted, “Jeni’s voice is precise and golden. Few jazz vocalists can achieve such a sound with the appearance of such ease.” Rounding out the Trio's full-bodied melodies are Jake Fleming, Jeni's husband, on guitar and saxophone, and Chad Langford on bass. Each is an accomplished musician in his or her own right; both Jake Fleming and Langford add depth to the music, knowing exactly how and when to enhance Jeni's soulful singing. The Trio may perform folksy, acoustic renditions of Jerry Jeff Walker, they may rock out with a pop cover of Cyndi Lauper – but in the end, the jazz comes out in every tune.

Tickets are $15 for general admission and $13 for students and seniors. Tickets for all Spotlight Series performances are on sale at the Kent Commons, 525 4th Avenue North, Kent, or by phone with a Visa or Mastercard during business hours at (253) 856-5050.
