KENT, Wash. – June 30, 2005 – Django-inspired Hot Club Sandwich will keep the night swinging at Kent’s “Thursdays at the Lake” on July 14. Part of Kent’s Summer Concert Series, the concert will take place at Lake Meridian Park, 14800 SE 272nd St in Kent, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Hot Club Sandwich captures the spirit of the Hot Jazz string bands of the early 20th century. Inspired by the “Gypsy Jazz” of Django Reinhart, the group’s diverse repertoire ranges from American big band standards and European jazz to Latin rhythms, musettes, boleros, danzones and traditional Gypsy folk tunes. Their adventurous improvisational spirit combined with passionate energy and drive sets this acoustic string sextet apart. Hot Club Sandwich has established itself as one of the most vibrant emerging acoustic bands on the West Coast and is sure to bring a smile to the faces of young and old alike.

“Thursdays at the Lake,” like all of Kent Parks’ summer concerts, are free to the public.
