Kent Parks Recreation and Community Services
The City of Kent Arts Commission and Kent Parks, Recreation and Community Services are seeking local talent to perform as part of a “Community Showcase” Presented by the King County Journal at Kent’s Fourth of July Splash. The Splash will take place on Monday, July 4, from 12:00 p.m. to approximately 11:00 p.m. at Lake Meridian Park in Kent.
Solo musicians, bands ensembles, dance and theatre groups are encouraged to apply. Performances will be approximately 20 to 30 minutes in length. A sound technician and equipment will be provided but performers are responsible for instruments and personal gear. Performances on the covered outdoor stage will take place rain or shine on the shore of Lake Meridian. The Community Showcase is not a paid performance. This is an opportunity for local and amateur performers to demonstrate their talent in front of thousands of people in their own neighborhood.

Applicants are asked to send a demo tape or compact disc, along with any photos, biographies or press samples. Application deadline is March 25, 2005.
