KENT, Wash. – October 20, 2005 – Once again, Magical Strings enchants Kent audiences with a variety of instruments, Irish step dancing, and storytelling. The 19th Annual Magical Strings Celtic Yuletide Concert takes place on Sunday, December 11 at 3 p.m. at Kent-Meridian Performing Arts Center (10020 SE 256th St., Kent). The performance is part of Kent’s 2005-2006 Spotlight Series performing arts season which runs through April 2006.

With dancing hammers and pulsating strings, Philip and Pam Boulding have created the distinctive music of Magical Strings, described by The Washington Post as "warm, graceful and sonically gorgeous." Centered around a tightly-knit blend of Celtic harps and hammered dulcimers, their performances are colorfully augmented by pennywhistles, concertina, valiha (Malagasy harp) and storytelling. The Bouldings’ five children and a variety of special guests join in for the Yuletide concert—creating a unique performance that is a treasured tradition throughout the Northwest.

Tickets for this memorable afternoon are $16 for general admission and $14 for students and seniors. A “family pack” of tickets (2 general, 2 student) is available for $25. Tickets are available by calling 253-856-5050 during business hours with a Visa or Mastercard or at the Kent Commons, 525 4th Ave. N. Spotlight Series is presented by the Kent Arts Commission and Kent Parks, Recreation and Community Services and partially sponsored by 4Culture, WESTAF and a variety of business and individual sponsors.
