Rhododendron Botanical Garden & Gift Shop

2525 South 336th Street
Federal Way, WA, 98003

The Garden is managed by the Rhododendron Species Foundation, a non-profit organization founded and incorporated in 1964 by members of the American Rhododendron Society. The group, led by Dr. Milton V. Walker of Eugene, Oregon, established the Foundation to secure the finest authentic forms of Rhododendron species and develop a comprehensive collection of this plant genus of over 850 species native to the temperate regions of North America, Europe, and Asia, as well as the tropical regions of southeast Asia and northern Australia. Conservation has become of primary importance in recent years with the destruction of Rhododendron habitat in many areas of the world.

Visitor Services have expanded since opening the display garden to the public in 1977. The Garden is open year-round and guided tours, a gift shop, and plants are available. The adjoining Pacific Rim Bonsai Collection, owned by the Weyerhaeuser Company, is one of the finest displays of bonsai in the country and is an additional attraction for visitors.
