Don't let this restaurant's simple exterior fool you. Tasty flapjacks, old fashioned burgers and soups or salads await you inside. There's nothing fancy about the ambiance or location; it's all about the food here.
For over 50 years The Pancake Chef has been serving the South Seattle area affordable entrees for breakfast and lunch meals. The seating area has a bright 1950’s style atmosphere with an open kitchen. Interested patrons can peer in to watch meals being prepared.
The menu is varied and focuses heavily upon breakfasts, featuring pancakes, omelet’s, and waffles. Fresh oranges are squeezed daily for a refreshing OJ.
As printed on their menus since opening in 1959, their motto is:
· A love of good food tastefully prepared
· A love for people and a wish to please them
· A love for high quality, cleanliness and service

My first experience dining at the Pancake Chef won't be my last. I'm still thinking about the savory omelet, those amazing crepes, fresh baked biscuits with gravy so good you could lick the bowl, and the liquid gold they called "fresh squeezed orange juice." The decor hasn't changed much since it opened in the 50's but the place has aged really well. It's nothing fancy but man is the food good! Prices are reasonable. Our waitress was fast and friendly. I'm hungry just thinking about the place.— M.a.
