Tourism Matters

Tourism matters to Seattle Southside. As a region located near the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, two major metropolitan areas and the transit corridor we see a lot of visitors; over 2 million guests stay in our hotels annually.

Hotels and meeting facilities, attractions, restaurants, cultural institutions, tour companies and transportation providers are among the local businesses greatly impacted by travel to Washington State. The tourism industry in King County employs more than 49,000 people, generates total direct visitor spending of $5.5 billion and generates $440 million in state and local tax revenue. Tourism touches the community in countless other ways.
