Foss Waterway Seaport

Tacoma, WA, 98402
The museum, located in a historic Tall Ships era shipping port at the foot of Tacoma's downtown core along the Thea Foss Waterway, currently offers visitors a variety of activities. These include heritage wooden boat building and restoration, displays of maritime artifacts and classic recreational boats, “Discovery Wharf” children's learning area, and marine and environmental science boat-based activities for students and community groups.
The Seaport’s 1,200 feet of dock space facilitates visits to Tacoma by historic vessels, such as the Lady Washington and Adventuress. Housed in the original heavy timber building where over a century of seafaring events occurred, Tacoma’s “working waterfront” museum is the only maritime heritage project in the Northwest whose building is an artifact.
