The Nelsen Family Historical Residence Trust was established by Miss Helen Nelsen (1906-1996) in order to preserve a piece of Tukwila’s history for the educational benefit of future generations. The large home, built in 1905 by James and Mary Nelsen, is maintained and preserved under the Trust as a non-profit organization in recognition of its architectural and historical significance. It is listed on the State register of historic places and is available for small tours by appointment only. The residence and grounds are a rich historical, as well as beautiful, asset to the community of Tukwila Washington and shall remain to remind and educate us about the rich agricultural and architectural past of the Valley and those who worked diligently to settle it.
