Kent Historical Museum

855 East Smith Street
Kent, WA, 98032

Housed and furnished in a preserved, three-story 1908 home, the Greater Kent Historical Museum serves as one of the Southside's true guardians of yesteryear. The whole family will enjoy the history and challenges experienced by those who worked to cultivate Kent Valley into the successful farmland and center of industry that it is today. The museum is one of Kent's oldest and finest homes, a three story 1908 craftsman style with carriage entry. The home is furnished with donated period furniture and an extensive gallery of local historical artifacts. Outside the museum Stuart Nakamura created Another Place, Another Time, an outdoor work of art honoring Kent's Japanese-American community.

Fun fact: We have a friendly ghost. In 2002 and 2003, the Amateur Ghost Hunters of Seattle Tacoma (AGHOST) spent several evenings at the museum taking readings and paranormal photos to confirm feelings many visitors had about the house. Please visit www.aghost.us, then click Investigations, select Washington, select Kent, then Kent Museum.
